Ahhh~ *_* This is one of those, "oshi, I've been doing this for over a year already?!" moments. Kefka was the very first full-sized humanoid doll I made and is still one of the most popular ones, so I was curious to see how differently he'd turn out if I completely redid him. SO~ This is the result.

Based on the sprite rather than the official art. Sprites kind of end up being like book characters- everyone imagines them in their heads differently. So when I looked at the sprite of Kefka, I always imagined his clothes really grand and opulent, like a very narcissistic royal, as opposed to clownish. So! That's what I tried to achieve.

Made of [super soft homg~] velvet, blizzard fleece, and LOTS AND LOTS OF gold lace. Holy crap, I had no idea how much lace it would take in order to trim everything. I initially bought only 1/2 a yard of the lace, and I think in the end I used about 5 yards of lace @__@

General info's here: [link] (Commissions are closed but I estimate they'll reopen May/June)

But I actually still have this doll in my possession if you're interested in him. :>

Love the royal outfit! It's awesome! This version's face kinda gives me the creeps than the gorgeous 1st Kefka. Kefka looks more like himself here, he's really ready to kick good guy's asses. What kind of yarn did you use for his hair? I haven't seen any so thick! Feathers really are a nice touch in Kefka's hair, they just look good on him.

Unfortunately I didn't keep the label for the yarn, but it was something along these lines: [link]

Very very soft and fluffy!

Might I suggest using a microsuede for the 'skin' next time? With the amount of effort you put into the faces, the smoother fabric would make the faces pop even more :D

True! I haven't used that yet since I'm not sure it's something that they stock at Joann's and I always get nervous about buying stuff from online, but I see your point.

Even a moleskin would do, the main issue is that fleece pills when it's painted, making it crunchy. JoAnn's don't sell a really peachy microsuede (except sometimes on the Red Tag table?), but they DO sell a pale pinkish moleskin that should work well.

Wow, what a huge improvement! Absolutely love how you interpreted his design too. So regal. *o*
